Let it rain, Let it rain, Let it rain!!

Tanner and Alexis have been enjoying the rain we have gotten from Hurricane Gustav. This afternoon it started to rain. They put on their jackets (since it was a bit cool). They were playing on the front porch having the time of their life. We haven't had this much rain at one time since moving here. Thank the Lord for the rain.

I caught the big one!!!!

Look at our big fish, or should I say, my big fish. I caught the bone fish on the left and two of the mutton snappers. Tim caught the little one on top! You can see the ruler we put by the big one on the bottom. So this will give you an idea of how big it really is. I had fun catching these fish. They would bite and take off. I had to work hard to pull them in. Tim was a big help because he would bait up the hook so I didn't have to. Now we will have another meal of delicious fish!!!

Clouds

I love to watch clouds. This has been something I have enjoyed since I was a child. I love to lie down somewhere and watch the clouds. It is neat to see what shape the clouds go into and what images you can see. I've see clouds that have been shaped like animals, etc.

Today we were on the beach and there was a storm out by the reef. This cloud reached way up into the sky and stayed like this for quite some time before dispersing into smaller clouds. I've seen some really nice clouds here, but have never had my camera with me. maybe I'll be able to take some more pictures soon.

Baldy

Trevor needed a hair cut and I started to cut it and he said that he wanted it bald. So I took the guard off of it and trimmed in way down. I usually leave a little bit in the front, but that didn't look right with no hair on his head. So he shaved the rest of it off. He was excited about shaving his head. He is going to have to be careful though so that he does not get burnt!

The coconut trees in our front yard had some dead limbs and I asked Tyler to see if he could get them down. ( I had to laugh because one other time he tried to pull limbs down and it fell on top of him and he landed flat on his back), so I told him to wait until I got the camera so if anything happened I could catch it on camera.

This limb he was swinging on and went all around the tree trying to pull it down, as you can see on the ground is the other limb. He did get this one down also.

In this picture Tyler is trying to run up the tree and grab another limb, but it was to high for him to reach.

Homemade battery charger

What do you do when your van won't start and the battery charger won't charge and no one is around to jump you off?

Use a weedeater and an extra alternator!!

It took Tim about six hours to get the van charged up, he worked and worked at this.


Tim's dad and oldest brother would be proud of him!!!!

The weed eater was an amazing thing to some of the kids in the neighborhood. They wanted to try it out.

One night while I was ready for bed I found Alexis and Cheetah sleeping. It was to cute not to take a few pictures, so Tim got the camera. A little while later she woke up and found Cheetah beside her (she does not like Cheetah to bug her while sleeping), so Alexis picked her up and put her outside of the room and shut the door.

Tyler goes to Middle

On August 1st and 2nd, Tyler and his Sunday school class went to Middle Caicos. This was a good opportunity for him to see another island and meet new people. He really enjoyed his time there. They explored caves, went swimming, etc. He would like to go back again.

I know it has been awhile.

Sorry for being so long in blogging. I've been very busy. all four kids are now in school and that takes up a lot of my time. Over all it has been going well, only 175 days of school left!!

I'm going to try to check up on the blog. Towards the beginning of August Tim was helping a friend during a sailboat race. We walked down the beach and planned on watching him race, but two hours after the race was to start we finally walked back home. Once we made it home the race started, so we didn't get to see him race. the boat he was on came in first in their division and they came in second over all.

While we were waiting for the race to start, we were sitting on a pier and the kids were getting bored so they would jump off of the pier into the water. They had a lot of fun. It was a pretty good jump for the little ones.
