Birthday, Christmas and Snow

It began to snow on Christmas night and the kids went out to play before it would melt.

Tanner celebrated his 9th birthday on Dec. 4th and we ate out at Cici's and his best friend, Jarrette came along.

Trevor's deer

Last week or so Trevor shot two deer within minutes of each other. He was floating around on cloud nine for a few hours afterwards. He is a real good shot and we are thankful for the meat from the deer. Good job Trevor!!!

Cookout

We had a cookout at our house the end of October. Here are some pictures from it. We enjoyed the time with friends and they seemed to enjoy their time at our home.

Here are a couple of our neighbors. Randy Shaver, and Mr. and Mrs. Latham

Roasting hotdogs.

Everyone loved the pinata. The kids and some of the adults alike. It was fun to watch them swing at it and hit or miss it. We got many laughs. Here is Tanner taking a turn.

Carson's turn.

Go Alexis!!!

Our newest married couple in our church. Ivan and Katie Newton.

This is Tonya. She wanted a turn also.

Here is Tonya again. Ivan would move the pinata away from her so that she was swinging at the air.

Here is my friend, Tammy and me. I spun Tammy around and she was so dizzy that she was about to fall down. I was trying to hold her up so she wouldn't end up on the ground. It was so funny!!

Tyler taking a turn.

Everyone enjoyed the hay ride also.

Our farm is growing

Some friends of ours gave us a horse. It is a small thing and his name is Monroe. He is the right size for the little kids. And Alexis loves it. She loves horses and so she has been enjoying riding him. He is a good horse over all so far.

Alexis turns 7

For Alexis's birthday we had a cookout and had family members over for supper, cake and presents for Alexis. I ended up putting the pictures on in the wrong order.

Uncle Roy and Aunt Fonda bought Alexis some squirt guns and here is Trevor and Alexis getting each other wet.

Alexis with Captain John Smith.

Opening her squirt guns. She loved them.

Blowing out the candles.

Alexis and her little buddy, Connor (this is her second cousin and she loves to hold him). By the time he is older Alexis will be almost old enough to baby sit him.

Alexis with her castle cake that Grandma Archibald made. Thanks so much.

Pretty girl.

My Big Brother Tim

I want to wish my big brother Tim a Happy 40th birthday. His actual birthday is September 22nd, but I probably won't be able to get online that day so I wanted to send his birthday wishes early.

What my big brother means to me:

Having an older brother is a wonderful thing. He has always been there for me. I can call him at anytime (even if it is after 8:00 PM - he goes to bed early -Ha!), and he will listen, give me advice, help me through something or whatever it may be. He has always been a solid christian figure in my life. Even during rough, difficult times he is Godly. I appreciate that above all. He has helped me through different spiritual battles and I can always count on his prayers for me and my family.

Growing up with Tim as my older brother ( I can truly say "older" now because he is 40!!!!).

Remembering good times:

I remember a time when I wanted to do everything he did. He was probably in 2nd or 3rd grade and before I started Kindergarten (and also back when things were much safer). I wanted to ride the school bus with him. My mom knew the bus driver and they worked out a deal where I would get on the bus with Tim and do the bus route and then after she dropped all the kids off she would bring me home. I was living it up being with my big brother, but I remember the sadness of when he got off of the bus and walked away. I thought I was going to cry and I might have ( I can't remember), but I can still see him walking away from the bus and that was very hard on me.

Another time when we were in the house playing with a basketball. He threw it to far above my head and it busted out the upstairs window. He says that I am wrong in what I remember, but I think I am right!!!

I always wanted to do what big brother said so one day when I was very little (mom said around 18 months). We had company and Tim told me to come with him and of course I did. We went into his play barn or something and he cut my hair. I remember that well and I guess he got in trouble, but I don't remember that part.

Even after Tim went to college he was always available for me to call or write letters to and he even answered my letters!!

After we both got married our first born sons were born on the same day. They are only 7 hours and 21 minutes apart with Joshua being older than Tyler.

I could mention many other things about Tim ,but it would take up a lot of space so I just mentioned a few.

Happy 40th birthday Tim. I love you and appreciate you very much. Come and see us sometime.

Sorry I don't have a picture of him on my digital camera. I don't see him very often as he lives in another State than me.

Tower of Babel and a pig!

During Trevor's history this week he was reading about the Tower of Babel and so he needed to try and build one out of blocks. He wanted to make one out of marshmellows and peanut butter, but I didn't have the marshmellows so he opted to build one out of blocks. He wanted a picture taken put on the blog. So here it is.

Alexis has a pig. She has named this one Suzy. We tried to get her to name it Barbie - Q , but she wouldn't have it.
