birthday

Alexis celebrated her 8th birthday on September 23rd. It is hard to believe that my baby is eight already. She is finally out of her booster seat and is loving it. She really enjoyed her birthday with Grandma and Grandpa Archibald, Uncle Roy, Aunt Fonda, Cousins, Sarah and Christie and of course her brothers and us too.

I can not post any pictures because my computer still will not let me down load anything from my camera. I had a guy fix a problem on my computer and ever since he "fixed" that problem I've not been able to get any of my pictures downloaded. Sorry

New driver in the family

Tyler is officially driving by himself now. He passed his test for his drivers license a couple weeks back. And he is loving being able to drive somewhere without his parents. It is a little nerve racking for me though, takes some getting use to. Thankfully he is a person that takes things slow while driving, at least for now. So maybe no speeding tickets in his future. Ha!! I sure hope not! Once he gets a little more confident on driving by himself then I can start sending him to the store, etc. for me. Yeah!!

I know it has been a long time since posting on here. I've been having problems with my computer. It won't let me download pics on it and I can't seem to figure out why so that is why I haven't put anything on. We are still among the living thankfully. WE plan to start school on August 15th. The kids are so excited about it, NOT!!!!

News from the islands

On Saturday I received the call that our dear friend, Marjorie Dean had died on Thursday. This was very hard to hear. She meant alot to us. We first met Marjorie in September 2006 when Tim and I first flew to the islands. Once we moved there to do mission work she became a part of our daily lives. She owned a little shop across the street from the mission house. She became a mother to Tim and I and a grandmother to our children. She showed me love and always had her heart, arms and home open to me and my family. I enjoyed talking to her and hearing how God had helped her during her life. She was a very interesting person. God allowed us to know this very special lady. She helped and blessed me in many ways. We became a part of her family and her whole family(there are many members) became a part of ours. We were included in many family get togethers. I especially remember a Memorial Day. Our van was broke down at the time and so she had all of us loaded up in different vehicles of her family and hauled us along with everyone to the other side of the island. We had loads of fun that today, talking, eating and enjoying time with friends.

I have many other memories of Marjorie, but they are to numerous to list. She did not want us to leave the islands, but because of work permit issues we had to leave. It was very hard to say goodbye to our wonderful friends, especially James and Marjorie since they were the oldest members and not knowing if we would see them again on earth.

I was able to talk to Marjorie in the 11th of May. She always sounded excited to hear my voice. She loved to laugh and I could always come away feeling lifted up after being around her. That day I asked her how she was doing, because recently she had some issues with her heart. She said she was feeling good. She was wanting to come up and see us sometime. Now I will not be able to see her here on earth again, but look forward to seeing her in Heaven some day.

Please pray for her husband, James and all of the family as they deal wtih the loss of this wonderful lady.

Tyler's 16th birthday

Sixteen years ago I was in the hospital for the second day waiting for our first baby to be born. It was a long drawn out process. Tyler did not want to come into this world. Tim was on the Army base in Georgia doing some of his training. (I was in Georgia also) and I was alone in the hospital with no other family around. I was very scared and lonely. Tim finally walked in the room and Tyler was born just a few minutes later. I was so happy to have Tim there once again. Tyler was blue and not breathing. Thank the Lord the doctors knew what to do and Tyler is alive and well today and enjoying his 16th birthday. He is turning into a wonderful young man. I am ever so thankful to God for blessing us with Tyler.


Tyler wanted a surprise birthday party. So I knew the only way to do this was to have a party before his actual birthday today. On Friday night Tim took Tyler to town and then his friends started showing up. Once most of everyone was there Tim brought Tyler home where everyone was hiding. Tyler had no idea everyone was there and once they started singing Happy Birthday to him he had a shocked look on his face and he said he thought he was going to have a heart attack because they scared him. It was funny. Ha! Ha! Tyler I got you!!

Our friend, Mandy made the cake for Tyler. She does a wonderful job. Thanks Mandy. The reason we went with an Air Force theme is because Tyler is thinking of joining the Air Force once he graduates.

Family over Easter

My sister, Patty and her family came down to NC and spent the weekend of Easter with us. I was very glad to have them here with us. I enjoy spending time with Patty. We have gotten pretty close the past seven to ten years. We use to fight all of the time whenever we got together, but thank the Lord that both of us enjoy time together now. I love having her come to our house, even though I seem to have forgotten what it was like to have litte ones in the house. Ha!!

We went to the zoo on the 23rd of April. We had to push Trevor around in a wheelchair because on the 21st he got his foot ran over by a g0-cart and had to get 13 stitches. So it was hard on mom to push him around all day, but we had fun though.

Tanner's new room

Since we moved back into our house after returning from the mission field and having renter's in it Tanner's room the renter's painted a pepto bismol pink and he would not sleep in there. Alexis slept in the room until now. We redid the room in wolves and Tanner loves it. I do too. I think it turned out real nice. Tim did a good job on it. I helped some, but not as much as he had to do. I'm thankful for a wonderful husband who can do so many things. Anyways, Tanner is enjoying his room and loves to spend time in it.
